October Schedule Changes

We told you last month that exciting new things were coming to the schedule, and now here they are!

  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00am: set your alarm and sleep in your yoga pants if you have to, because starting Monday 10/7 you’re going to want to get to Shannan’s new 6:00am Vinyasa Level 1-2! 60 minutes of morning moving meditation to start your day.

  • Mondays at 10:30am: Yoga/Pilates Fusion with Hediyeh is back! Come strengthen and lengthen with her each week, starting Monday, 10/7.

  • Wednesdays at 5:30pm: Jessica is taking over Wednesday evenings starting 10/2. She’ll help you shake off any mid-week woes as you move, breathe, sweat, and get back in your body.

  • Thursdays at 10:30am: New class alert! Asana Evolution with Shannan is a 60 minute, non-heated, workshop-style class designed to break down the intricacies of alignment tailored to your own body, giving you skills and awareness to take back into your vinyasa practice. Starting Thursday, 10/10.

Monthly Workshop

Our monthly workshops are a great way to tune into your practice, refine your technique, or add a new skill. Please note: this month’s workshop is getting a little nudge into November so that we don’t interfere with your important Halloween-related scheduling.

  • Join Shannan on Saturday, November 9th for a unique, alignment-focused workshop: Living in Anatomical Reality. How do you do you in asana? Are you fighting your nature or working with it? Come find out how to tune in, modify, and ensure your practice is helping you thrive. 11/9 11:00am-1:00pm, $40. Sign-ups will be available on Mindbody starting the week of 10/14.

A Message from Shannan

The harvest months highlight the cyclical and repetitive nature of life, reminding us that neither the good times nor the toughest ones last forever. And in this way, they serve as a reminder to practice feeling into the present moment. And I mean really feeling – listening deeply and allowing the painful pieces to speak, the happy ones to make us laugh more easily. To practice appreciating what is now, and what it has to teach us.

It trickles down into our yoga: in your asana, are you really listening to what your body is telling you? You may have heard me tell the story recently in class of a workshop teacher asking me why I practice malasana (yogi squat) with the alignment I do if what it yields is discomfort. Good question. Now is the time to practice tuning into to the sensation of the present moment and showing up to our poses, our life, our “why” with the courage and integrity to listen deeply and stay clear.
